Every year we take a family trip up to New York and we recently took our annual voyage to visit relatives. Autumn is my favorite time of year in New York and these photos were taken in the family backyard. My son Cole, now almost 2, lived for raking the leaves into small piles. It was his new found favorite hobby and he couldn’t get enough of it.

Our trip happened to fall over Halloween and so we took Cole trick-or-treating and appropriately dressed him in the hometown mascot, “The Bumble Bee”. All of our family friends were so excited to see him in costume and he was the neighborhood celebrity for the evening.

Family is one of the most important things in life and autumn trips up north are always an annual event I look forward to. I’m so blessed to have wonderful family to love…and to photograph!

These adorable “barefoot” Santucci family portraits were taken on Barefoot Beach in Bonita Springs. The two kids, Charlie and Gabby, are so easy to work with and I have been photographing them since Charlie was born. It’s been so fun to watch them grow and capture their smiles at all the different stages. They are special children who somehow get even more adorable with age. The Santucci family is full of giggles and overflowing with love for each other. And though surrounded by nature’s beauty of colorful sunsets and ocean spray during this shoot, I would agree with the words of George Santayana, “The family is one of nature’s greatest masterpieces.”

After years of marriage, John and Ericka are still an adorable couple whose love for each other continues to radiate. Their relationship is about to blossom even more, as they have just found out they are pregnant with their first baby! I was privileged to capture some unforgettable snapshots of love and excitement in their shoot at the Naples Beach Hotel.

A favorite hobby of  John and Ericka is reading cookbooks and creating gourmet meals together. You may still see them at Barnes and Noble, only now preparing for a new type of cooking using ingredients such as bananas and squash for tiny, toothless mouths. The fact that these two are not afraid to get their feet a little sandy or their pants a little wet convinces me they will be spectacular parents!

Pictures capture the milestones of life and freeze those overjoyed facial expressions of the most meaningful moments in time. I love how John and Ericka chose to memorialize their love and a new adventure together through this shoot. Why not celebrate all the special moments of life? Do you remember when you were a little girl and all you wanted to do when you “grow up” was become a Princess that lived in a castle and wore pretty clothes and got to change 50 times a day and your mom wouldn’t get mad at you?! Well, meet Macey – she is a Princess to the core and was a blast to photograph. She came into our Fort Myers studio bearing all sorts of pretty “foo foo” clothes, adorable hats and scraped up knees! What could possibly be better then that? In a word – NOTHING!

I would love to go back to the Princess days every now and then. At her children’s portrait photo shoot Miss Macey allowed all of us to do that! Thank you Princess Macey – you were absolutely delightful!

Jessica and Matt were so much fun to work with – they were totally up for anything and it really shows in their portraits. We spent a couple of hours with them on Sanibel Island just kind-of touring properties for some cool locations. One of our favorite spots is the Sanibel Lighthouse on the south end of the island.

They also had their little boy with them – and he was a doll!! We stopped at an ice cream parlor for some little treats and that made for some fantastic portraits – AND livened the mood of our little 2 year old friend!!

We had a really fun portrait session with Cole in a nearby pumpkin patch! His overalls were perfect for the setting!

We have been photographing Karston since before he was born! It is so hard to believe he is 18 months old already! He looks like such a little boy in these pictures! His favorite thing these days besides playing with any kind of ball or car is his furry red monster Elmo!!!

We started photographing Leah when she was pregnant with her first child – Eli – back in 2007. Now she is about to have her second child, this time a girl, any day now! We are so excited for her new baby! We recently photographed Leah and Eli together in the studio for some classic and adorable maternity and child portraits.
