Sarah and Aaron got married at the beautiful Miromar Lakes Beach and Golf Club in Fort Myers, FL. It is one of the most beautiful properties in the Fort Myers surrounding area. Miromar Lakes is a residential waterfront resort with over 700 acres of contiguous aquamarine freshwater lakes, three miles of private white sandy beach and “Signature” championship golf, all within one luxurious setting. What more could a Fort Myers wedding photographer ask for??

They had their ceremony right on the water front and it was beautiful. They also did something really cool and released butterflies - see below for the pics and history behind it.

Sarah and Aaron did something really cool during their ceremony and released butterflies.  The butterfly release is for new beginnings. In short, it means: From the cycles of life come circles of love, and we give you our thanks for such gifs from above. From Nature’s own beauty come uplifting feelings, from the flight of these creatures may you find life’s true meanings. And as these creations escape to the light may the promise of tomorrow always be bright. Let them carry your hopes for what the future may bring, and may your love be uplifted on these butterfly wings.

Jackie and Allen were married at the historic Heitman House in Downtown Ft. Myers. The Heitman House is such a beautiful location as it sits perfectly overlooking the Caloosahatchee River. This is an ideal location for any Florida Wedding Photographer. It has everything from a beautiful riverfront location with a great white dock, to gorgeous sunsets, and cozy wrap around porches. This is old Florida at its best!

They also had something a little unique because they had a gorgeous white flowing tent set up where there reception was to take place. Check out the photos - its spectacular!! Congrats to Jackie and Allen - we wish you all the happiness in the world in the many years to come!

Lisa and Luis had such a gorgeous day!! Lisa got ready at her parents private home in Fort Myers and it was picture perfect! No detail was missed! They had a really beautiful church service and then went back to her parents home for the reception dinner and dancing. They had a gorgeous day and such fun people - it was perfect in every aspect!

The guests each received Norman Love chocolates! YUM!

The cake was one of the most beautiful cakes we had ever seen!! It was created by Ella’s Cakes out of Naples.

And all of the food was created by Rene’s Catering in Fort Myers. Everything was not only beautiful but absolutely delightful!

Sarah and Darcy were married at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort and Spa. Sanibel Harbour is located in South Fort Myers right before you cross the bridge to get to Sanibel Island. It is such a great location with fabulous staff, excellent amenities and gorgeous locations throughout the property for wedding ceremonies and receptions. They have it all! Sarah and Darcy’s wedding was no exception. They had a beautiful Florida day (although a bit windy! :)) They were so much fun to work with - such fun and easy going personalities. You could tell that the two of them brought the fun into a room where ever they went. Congrats to the two of them and we wish them all the best of luck in the many years to come!

Laurie and Bo were married at the Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa located in Fort Myers, Florida. The rain decided it just couldn’t wait till later, so they had their ceremony, pictures, and reception inside. But everything still turned out beautifully!!

Kristina and John had their ceremony and reception at the Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa located in Fort Myers, Florida. They had a lovely ceremony on the beach overlooking Sanibel Harbour & Sanibel Island and their reception was held indoors in the Island Room. Kristina and John’s wedding celebration was unique in that the bride is from Norway and the groom is 100% American! A Norwegian tradition is to have a lot of toasts and speeches at the reception!

Barbara and Randy were married at the Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa located in Fort Myers, Florida right before the Sanibel-Captiva toll bridge. We were able to take a ton of pictures outdoors before the ceremony as well as have the ceremony outdoors on the beach before the rain came. After the ceremony the wedding party and guests stood on the dock and threw flower petals into the water.  Since it was raining during the sunset time when we normally go back outside for pictures, we were able to take some artistic and creative images inside the Sanibel Harbour Resort! Their cake was uniquely shaped and decorated as a castle. Each individual table had small castle centerpieces as well.

Stacy and Jimmy were married at the Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa last weekend. Jimmy got ready at his home in Fort Myers and Stacy got ready at the Sanibel Harbour. This was a really fun wedding to be a part of because of the many Greek wedding traditions that took place during the ceremony and the reception. “The wedding ceremony itself consists of two parts which are distinct and separate from each other: The Service of Betrothal and the Ceremony of the Sacrament of Marriage.  Each thing in the ceremony has special meaning and significance, particularly the repetition of each act three times – symbolizing the Holy Trinity: God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit…

The exchanging of rings is the focus of the Service of Betrothal. The priest blesses the rings by holding them in his right hand and making the sign of the cross over the heads of the bride and groom. The rings are then placed on the third fingers of their right hands. The Koumbaro , swaps the rings over between the bride and groom’s fingers, three times.

In the Greek Orthodox religion, the best man is replaced by a Koumbaros, who must be a member in good standing of the church, and has extended duties during the ceremony.

The Ceremony of the Sacrament of Marriage consists of several parts –  petitions, prayers, the crowning, readings from the New Testament, the offering of the common cup, the circling of the ceremonial table and the benediction. At the conclusion of the prayers, the priest joins the right hands of the bride and groom. Their hands remain joined until the end of the wedding ceremony, which symbolizes the couple’s union.

The crowning is the focal point of the marriage ceremony. The bride and groom are crowned with thin crowns, called stefana,  which are joined by a white ribbon and have been blessed by the priest. The crowns symbolize the glory and honor that is being bestowed on them by God, and the ribbon symbolizes their unity. The Koumbaro then exchanges the crowns between the heads of the couple, three times.
The Common Cup

The crowning is followed by a reading of the Gospel, which tells of the marriage of Cana at Galilee. It was at this wedding that Jesus performed his first miracle, changing water into wine, which was then given to the married couple. Wine is given to the couple and they each drink from it three times…

The priest blesses the couple, the crowns are removed and he then separates their previously joined hands with the bible, reminding them that only God can break the union which they have just entered into.

There is perhaps no more memorable element of a Greek wedding celebration than the dancing. The bride and groom dance together…Eventually, they invite others to join in the dancing, which can go on for hours.”
