The best time of day to take beach portraits is right before, during, and immediately after sunset. This allows us to get family portraits with different types of natural lighting. We take the details of your professional portraits seriously. As the seasons change, so does the time the sun sets, which we pay close attention to throughout the year. We ensure that we photograph your family beach portraits with the correct lighting for the best results. On the beach, professional family portraits typically take from thirty minutes to an hour, depending on the number of family members and the ages of the children. We typically allow a little more time for beach portraits of families with young children, in order to leave plenty of opportunity to photograph the little ones when they are feeling their best!
Experience Under Any Condition
Unfortunately, the weather on the beach is not always optimal. It may be overcast or extremely windy, but the photographers at Jennifer Angeloro Photography have plenty of experience photographing in these scenarios. In the event of rain, or other weather that is not its best for a scheduled professional family portrait session, we will do our best to reschedule for another time convenient for the clients.
Unique Locations
Aside from the beach, professional portrait sessions are also available in our photography studio in Fort Myers. We have a variety of backdrops and lighting to choose from, and we use them to create an array of fun family portraits. Other options are family photos taken in specifically requested locations, such as the client’s home, a nearby park, downtown, or another location of special meaning to the family.
For professional family beach portraits we recommend that our clients wear something that will go well with their chosen surroundings. When photographing families on the beach, we suggest that they wear something that will pull out the colors of the blue sky, the sand, or the sunset. Some clients choose to wear jeans or khakis with white tops, whereas others choose more colorful clothing. Either can be a good choice, and family preference is paramount. We do recommend that our clients wear solid colors instead of stripes or floral designs. Also, while everyone does not need to be matching exactly, but we do recommend that family outfits coordinate with each other.

We work with each client to take advantage of two of Southwest Florida’s attractions, the white sandy beaches and the gorgeous sunsets. One of the primary locations that we photograph professional family portraits is on one of the many local beaches. We work on the beaches of Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Bonita Springs, Marco Island, Naples, and Sarasota. Working outdoors of course allows us plenty of space for a variety of poses, but the benefits of professional family portraits taken in one of these locations are primarily the attractive scenery and the excellent natural lighting. Also, sunsets on Southwest Florida’s beaches are always fabulous, and a desirable backdrop for many clients’ portraits. Occasionally, our clients are vacationing here from somewhere inland, so having their professional family portraits taken on the beach is a special and unique opportunity for them.
